
Angela L. Ferguson, RN, PhD, CHPCN(C) Assistant Professor, Faculty of Nursing, University of Calgary
Angela L. Ferguson is a former Advanced Practice Nurse (Clinical Nurse Specialist), certified in Hospice and Palliative Care Nursing, and currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Calgary. She is a primary instructor in the palliative and end-of-life care stream and the lead instructor in the rural and remote nursing stream of the graduate-level laddered certificate to Master of Nursing (MN) program.
Angela’s research focuses on improving access to high-quality palliative care for vulnerable populations, particularly those in rural and remote communities. Her academic interests include advanced practice nursing education, maximizing nursing roles to their full scope of practice, and developing innovative care models to address systemic gaps in healthcare delivery. She is also deeply engaged in the study of clinical decision-making and the art and science of prognostication.
